Ramp closures and long-term construction are expected to create traffic problems in Dobbs Ferry and Ardsley.
Work on the Ashford Avenue Bridge began on Monday, and the entrance and the northbound ramps to the Saw Mill River Parkway between Ashford Avenue and the parkway are closed.
The busy bridge is located between Dobbs Ferry and Ardsley, off Exit 17 of the Saw Mill River Parkway.
Officials say drivers can find detours on Route 9-A and Lawrence Street during the construction.
Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner questions the timeline of the project.
"I don't understand why it has to take three years," he says.
