A local artist paid her respects to veterans in a creative way.
Katori Walker was asked to paint a mural outside of Empire Post VFW 375 in Yonkers.
Walker says she wanted the piece to celebrate and honor all veterans, both living and those who died fighting for our country.
The painting also carries a personal meaning. "My Uncle Jack used to come here all the time when I was a little girl, talking about the services, talking about the friendships that were developed and the unity. So when I was asked to do this, I felt like I was honoring him and all the veterans."
This is Walker's second mural in Yonkers.
