(AP) - Police have made a quick arrest in the second of two weekend homicides in Greenburgh, which in the past has averaged one killing a year.
Greenburgh police Chief John Kapica says 20-year-old Alejandro Macias Barajas of Hartsdale was tracked down Monday and charged with murder.
Barajas allegedly stabbed and beat 44-year-old Leonid Eylinkrig in Eylinkrig's condo on Saturday evening.Kapica described the men as casual acquaintances and said the motive was not known.
Barajas did not yet have a lawyer.
Earlier Saturday, 44-year-old Anthony Fizzinoglia was found shot to death at his service station. Kapica said Fizzinoglia probably knew his killer and robbery has been ruled out as a motive.
Police say the two incidents are not related.
