An arrest complaint in Ulster County is now under investigation after claims of excessive force.
The Ulster County Sheriff's Office released body cam video of the incident over the weekend. The woman, Shana Shaw, was arrested for allegedly driving without a license on Dec. 28 in the Town of Ulster.
The video shows Shaw being physically removed from her car after refusing instructions to get out.
Ulster County Sheriff Juan Figueroa said by statement, "Encounters with law enforcement can be unpredictable, and although this is not to say one way or the other that anyone is at fault, this will at least shed light on the event as it occurred in real time."
An attorney for Shaw said last week she was injured during the arrest and planned to file suit against the department, but by Monday said they were no longer on the case.
