Ari Kagan is hoping for a political comeback, this time in a different part of Brooklyn.

The former New York City council member, who previously represented District 47, is now running in District 48, which includes neighborhoods like Brighton Beach and Sheepshead Bay.

Kagan, who immigrated from Belarus in 1993, says his decades of service and deep roots in the area make him the right choice for the job.

“We need more security cameras. We need more police officers. We need more police presence,” Kagan told News 12, emphasizing public safety as one of his top priorities.

He’s also taking a strong stance against the proposed casino in Coney Island, a plan he believes would increase crime, congestion and drug use.

“People all over South Brooklyn are strongly against the casino,” he said. “It’s a project that should go nowhere.”

Kagan says he’s spent the campaign connecting directly with residents, whether it’s at senior centers or neighborhood parks, saying that listening is the key to leadership.

“You will get a fighter in City Hall,” he said. “Someone with more than 30 years of experience serving South Brooklyn.”

With Election Day just weeks away, Kagan is pushing his message on the streets: District 48 needs a representative who understands the community and the American dream.
