An apartment building on East Main Street in Port Jervis caught fire over the weekend and displaced at least three people from their home.
The building is owned by New Jersey-based company Red Knight Real Estate.
Port Jervis officials say it was inspected days before the fire and that the owner was notified of several code problems requiring correction before violations could be issued.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
