A winner has been announced for the Republican Primary in the 19th Congressional District.

According to the Associated Press, Kyle Van De Water was trailing Ola Hawatmeh by nearly 900 votes on primary night. However, he was declared the winner after 2,200 absentee ballots were counted.

News 12 is told the results need to be certified before they are considered official.

Van De Water plans to face Rep. Antonio Delgado in November.
