Some Somers families woke Sunday to a hate-filled message stuffed in their mailboxes urging them not to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The writer, who declares "embrace your race," tries to discourage whites from participating in events remembering the slain civil rights leader by citing crime statistics. Elliott Kravits, 12, showed the flier to his mother Sue who called 911. State police say they've gotten several reports about hate mail, which they believe is coming from the group North East White Pride.

Meanwhile, at New Rochelle's Shiloh Baptist Church the focus remained on keeping Dr. King's dream alive. Eight children shared how they plan to keep up the fight for equality.
