The annual Yonkers Riverfest drew an estimated 15-20,000 people to Downtown Yonkers on Saturday.
The event offered food, fun, music and a financial shot in the arm for participating vendors, including Debra Smiley.
"It helps me. I have a young daughter in college. Instead of her working, as a mom, I can support her as a vendor. We enjoy living here in Yonkers," she said.
For live music lovers, there were three performance stages, which included River Street, Main Street and the stage along the Yonkers waterfront.
Yonkers native Bob Frey was very impressed.
"Yonkers is alive. It looks good. This is something else. I didn't expect this," he said.
Resident Erika Castro also agreed.
"This is our second time coming to Riverfest. It's really nice, lots of cultures, it's really good," she said.
