Animal breeder fined $35 million for violating animal protection laws

Virginia-based Envigo RMS LLC and Envigo Global Services Inc. have been fined $35 million for the inhumane treatment of more than 4,000 beagles.

An animal breeder will pay the largest fine ever in an animal welfare case for violating animal protection laws.
Virginia-based Envigo RMS LLC and Envigo Global Services Inc. have been fined $35 million for the inhumane treatment of more than 4,000 beagles.
The Westchester County SPCA rescued the beagles. Sentencing is scheduled for October 7.
