Police and narcotics agents have arrested 12 suspects in a heroin bust, and one of the ringleaders lives in a Warburton Avenue apartment in Yonkers.
Officials say suspected heroin kingpin Elvis Moreno was forced out of business after the NYPD pulled off a multi-borough raid this week, on what investigators describe as a "family-run drug-dealing network."
The superintendent of the Yonkers apartment building says that swarms of police officers and narcotics agents converged on the building earlier this week.
Authorities say that the operation was run by Robert Alvarado and Justin Bonilla, two stepbrothers from Staten Island.
The stepbrothers allegedly split their heroin-dealing profits with their mother and used their girlfriends to help sell the drugs.
Police say that supplies of heroin would routinely be picked up at Moreno's Warburton Avenue apartment.
Aside from the 12 arrests, two more people are still on the loose and wanted by police.
Alvarado's girlfriend, Clarileni Munoz, of Yonkers, was also indicted on conspiracy charges in connection with the ongoing investigation.
