AAA is urging those hitting the road this weekend to have their vehicle checked before a trip to avoid a breakdown.
Nationwide, AAA anticipates more than 545,000 breakdowns for the Labor Day holiday, Monday, Aug. 29 through Monday, Sept. 5.
Battery problems, flat tires and lockouts are the top items members seek help for.
“Easily preventable problems will lead to more than a half-million holiday breakdowns, which are not only inconvenient, but also can be deadly,” said Robert Sinclair Jr., of AAA Northeast.
AAA says some tips include battery testing before a trip and to make sure tires are properly inflated before a trip.
