A Bronx business responsible for the birth of the salon industry is still helping to beautify the borough.
Aldan, which has been in business for more than 60 years, is best known for styling the world's finest hairdressers.
What catapulted the company into the Salon Hall of Fame was the tipping cap, a hat designed to color specific pieces of hair. It is also known for its locally made aprons and robes.
Aldan workers say the company makes hundreds of shipments per week, but adds that it is often frustrating because the product is so well-made that it takes a long time for customers to re-order.
