State police have released the name of the man killed in a crash early Thursday morning on I-87 southbound in Clarkstown.
Troopers say 45-year-old Bravo Nondo of Albany died after being struck on the Exit 14 ramp around 4:30 a.m.
Investigators say Nondo had stopped his vehicle and walked to the back for unknown reasons when 35-year-old Gregg Albaum, of Nanuet — an off-duty NYPD officer — swerved to avoid the car and hit him.
Nondo died at the scene. Albaum was taken to Nyack Hospital for treatment.
