WHAT'S NEW: Air quality alerts have been extended through now Friday evening. The smoke will be thinning out but still running into poor levels, especially to those with health issues.
WHAT'S NEXT: There are signs of improving air quality by Friday evening with a chance of rain and isolated storms. The weekend ahead will be mainly dry with temps bouncing back to normal levels for this time of year.
