Scorpios, a classic pirate ship ride, is the latest addition to the park lineup of attractions.
Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins called the opening "another exciting step in Playland Park's continued comeback."
Manufactured by Metallbau Emmeln, the ride sends 42 passengers soaring in a pendulum-style swing.
Scorpios joins the park's classic ride lineup, like fan favorites Dragon Coaster, Grand Carousel and Sawmill River.
“Scorpios is a wonderful addition to Playland’s collection of attractions and enhances the experience of our guests," said William Bland, the Westchester County Parks Acting Commissioner, "As we continue investing in the park and building on its historic legacy, we’re excited to welcome visitors to enjoy our newest addition.”
