New York Attorney General Letitia James has announced a nationwide investigation into Meta Platforms, formerly known as Facebook.

The group of attorneys general will be investigating the company's promotion of Instagram despite being aware of the physical and mental health harm for children and young adults.

The investigation will look at whether the company violated state consumer protection laws and put the public at risk.
