African-American leaders in the Bronx held a public forum Saturday about the Ebola virus to educate residents and dispel misinformation.
"The African Response to Ebola - Facing Facts and Fears," held at the Dreiser Loop Community Center, addressed the cultural and environmental impact of the Ebola crisis in the U.S. and abroad.
Speakers and guests included officials from the New York City Department of Health and Hygiene, U.N. agency members and local political leaders.
They say information sessions like this are particularly important because of the large West African presence in the Bronx.
