People flocked to Sleepy Hollow Saturday to learn about African American history and celebrate Black culture at the Pinkster Festival.
The event at Philipsburg Manor featured music, dancing and food inspired by the Black experience.
The annual event also recreated a yearly springtime holiday: The founding of the Christian Church. It was the only time enslaved Africans in New York were legally allowed to gather, play music and dance in public.
