An ad in a Westchester newspaper about adopting puppies has gotten some attention and one of the pups a home.
Paula Young, the director of Mount Vernon's animal shelter, took out an ad in the Journal News that originally read "twin rat terrorists; 11 months, adorable, full of fun." Young says the ad about the rat terrier puppies was meant to get a laugh and hopefully get the dogs noticed. Many think the use of the word ?terrorist? in a post-9/11 world would make people jump. However, Young says she hasn?t receive any angry calls, just a few prank calls from teenagers.
Young says the dogs aren?t really terrors, they just are rambunctious and will chew up slippers. And despite the ad calling them terrorists, one of the pups has found a new home.
