An accused serial killer is facing at least 15 years to life in prison after a jury convicted him of murdering his girlfriend in Mount Vernon.
Lucius Crawford was found guilty of murder and weapons possession in the death of Tonya Simmons. Police say he stabbed the 41-year after a fight over a cellphone in 2012.
A jury is still deliberating Crawford's fate in the 1993 murder of Laronda Shealy, of Yonkers. Crawford is accused of murdering Shealy in the Bronx.
Crawford has already spent decades behind bars for stabbing women in South Carolina.
