In recognition of "National Diaper Need Awareness Week," a Mount Kisco charity is stepping up to support families facing diaper shortages.
The organization 914CARES is conducting giveaways at multiple locations throughout Westchester County this week.
Diapers will be directly provided to families in need. The organization distributes 500,000 diapers and 20,000 packages of wipes per year.
914CARES highlights that one in every two U.S. families encounters challenges in supplying enough diapers to maintain the cleanliness, dryness, and health of babies and toddlers.
"Since this week is awareness week, we wanted to get into the community and make everybody aware that diapers are a basic essential, and a basic need for families, and they are as essential as food or clothing or shelter," says Jessica Reinmann, CEO of 914Cares:
