A routine traffic stop turned into a major drug bust last week in Port Jervis, according to police.

The police department says two officers uncovered over 80 grams of suspected crack-cocaine and drug equipment from a rental car they pulled over.

The unnamed driver was taken into custody at the scene, along with a female passenger who had an outstanding drug warrant.

The driver faces charges including criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Police say the suspect remains in Orange County Jail.
