A Christmas Day fire left eight people homeless in Brewster.

Fire officials say the flames broke out at a home on Maplewood Drive, and the Putnam Lake Fire Department battled the blaze.

All the residents were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

Investigators have not released a cause of the fire yet.
