A 5-month-old girl has been released from the hospital after being rescued from a hot car in Port Chester.
Police say the baby's mother was arrested.
Authorities say the infant was saved by a good Samaritan just after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The baby was found alone in a car parked outside a Modell's on Boston Post Road.
Witnesses say after spotting the infant, a woman reached through an open window, unlocked the door, and pulled the infant to safety. The baby was then rushed to White Plains Hospital where she was treated and released.
The child is now safe with her father, who tells News 12 that she is going to be OK.
News 12 Connecticut is told that the mother has been released on bail. She was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
