The FDNY is investigating a massive fire that destroyed five businesses in Hunts Point Wednesday night.
A shoe store, a clothing store, a bank, a jewelry store and a music store burned down on Southern Boulevard at around 9:30 p.m.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to the apartment building next door, which had been evacuated as a precaution.
Eight people, including several firefighters, sustained minor injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but the incident is not considered suspicious.
A transit representative says Bx5 and Bx19 bus lines have been rerouted to 163rd Street and Westchester Avenue.
