Police officers from the 46th Precinct spread Christmas cheer Saturday to some deserving Tremont residents.
The precinct picked seven families from a community affairs/domestic violence program. Officers raised about $1,800 to buy gifts and food for the families. Edna Sanchez, whose children benefited from the precinct?s generosity, says officers helped make Christmas special at her house.
Officers say they gain a great sense of accomplishment by playing Santa.
