A six-car crash on I-287 in Harrison sent four people to the hospital Friday.
The crash happened at around 5 p.m. in the eastbound lanes between exits nine and 10 in Harrison.
Five passenger cars and a box truck were involved. Police say it was a chain-reaction accident and that their collision reconstruction unit is trying to figure out exactly what happened.
Investigators say three of the four injured are in serious condition, including a mother, grandmother and teenager, all of whom were in the same car. The fourth victims suffered less-serious injuries. 
The accident shut down the eastbound side of I-287 for several hours.
