? Both candidates in the hotly contested 35 District state Senate race were out and about Monday with one common message to residents ? get out and vote. Senator Nick Spano (R) urged every resident at a Polish center in Yonkers to get 18 more people to vote for him on Election Day. Spano narrowly defeated his current opponent, Democrat Andrea Stewart-Cousins, two years ago. The 10-term state senator says he?s the poster child for the ?every vote counts? phrase. Stewart-Cousins made the rounds at various locations as the hours before Election Day tick down. She says a vote for her is a vote for change in Albany. Stewart-Cousins supporters who got to meet the candidate say she?s got the right outlook on several important issues. Related Information Incumbent NYS Sen.
