A stabbing in The Bronx has left a 30-year-old woman dead and a man injured.
Police have identified the woman as Anthonella Contreras Linarez.
It happened Wednesday around 8 p.m. near Rodmans Neck Island Circle. Investigators say the woman and a 44-year-old man were walking in the area when they were stabbed.
Both victims were driven to Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital.
Linarez was pronounced dead at the hospital after suffering multiple stab wounds. The man was treated for a stab wound to his arm and is in stable condition.
News 12 spoke with Linarez’s father, who said she was a great woman with great values.
He said she came to New York from the Dominican Republic for a better future, and her life was taken from her far too soon.
He also said Linarez and her boyfriend, Franklin Batalla, just came back from a vacation in the Dominican Republic.
He said the two had been together at least five years, and that Batalla had an alcohol problem.
He did not comment on whether he suspects Batalla may have been involved in his daughter’s death.
News 12 also spoke with Linarez’s security guard in her apartment building. He said she was a cool, nice girl with a bubbly personality.
No arrests have been made.
