A former Wallkill correctional officer was arraigned on child sex assault charges in Ulster County.

Thomas Banks Jr., 35, faced the charges in Ulster County court last week, prosecutors said.

Banks resigned from his position during a state police investigation.

He has been remanded to jail in lieu of bail.
