A fire has destroyed a multifamily home in Sleepy Hollow Sunday night leaving nearly 30 people homeless.

A fire has destroyed a multifamily home in Sleepy Hollow Sunday night leaving nearly 30 people homeless.
Fire officials say the first call came in around 8 p.m. and the building at 305 N. Washington St. was completely involved when firefighters got there.
About 100 firefighters from 14 departments battled the flames. The fire was finally put under control around midnight.
No one from the building was hurt, but one firefighter suffered smoke inhalation and was treated at the hospital.
Between eight to ten families lived in the building, with about 20-30 people .
The Westchester County Cause and Origin team was called to the scene and they are expected to return this morning. No officials cause has been released yet.
Red Cross is assisting families at the James Galgano Senior Center at 55 Elm St.
