Three Westchester residents are taking on the World Health Organization over allegations of a failed coronavirus response.
The trio is claiming the World Health Organization was too slow to identify the COVID-19 pandemic before it made its way to the county, which is one of the most impacted areas in the nation.
Two people from New Rochelle and one from Scarsdale filed the lawsuit in federal court in White Plains, alleging negligence and accusing WHO of failing to properly monitor the COVID-19 response in China.
The group is hoping more Westchester residents join to make it a class-action lawsuit.
According to a WHO statement, it is aware of media reports and is reviewing the matter.
