A remembrance ceremony was held Saturday at the memorial honoring the victims of an attempted armored car robbery.
The Brinks robbery claimed the lives of Nyack Police Sergeant Edward O'Grady, officer Waverly "Chipper" Brown and Brinks security guard Peter Paige, who were killed in a shootout with self-proclaimed revolutionaries on Oct. 20, 1981.
Loved ones say they did not lose their lives in vain.
“The memorial is here to serve as a remembrance of the courage and bravery that these three brave men gave that day," says Michael Paige, the son of Peter
Paige. "We will never forget you and we wish you were here.”
