A driver was found shot in the head on the upper level of the George Washington Bridge, a source confirmed to News 12.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday. The source says that Port Authority police were called to a one-vehicle crash on the westbound upper level of the bridge. Responding officers found the driver with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.
The driver was taken to Englewood Medical Center. That person’s condition was not immediately made available.
No other injuries were reported.
The police investigation caused heavy traffic on both sides of the bridge. Traffic cameras showed that traffic was barely moving. Port Authority officials say all lanes are temporarily blocked.
