A man is facing a slew of charges in connection with multiple forcible touching incidents and a robbery in the Bronx, according to the NYPD.
Scott C. Hanes, 32, of the Claremont section of the Bronx, was arrested at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Officers walked him out of the Bronx Special Victims Unit in handcuffs later that day.
Hanes is accused of groping four women and one girl during separate incidents over the course of 11 days in the confines of the 42nd and 44th Precincts. Police say the youngest victim was just 13 years old.
Police first released a photo of Hanes on Sept. 25, when investigators only knew of one of his alleged crimes.
According to the NYPD, he was on the run for a Sept. 22 groping and robbery incident that happened in front of 1692 Monroe Ave. Here, Hanes allegedly grabbed a 40-year-old woman's buttocks and stole her headphones as well as $1.
Sources close to the investigation say the NYPD linked Hanes to three additional and separate forcible touching incidents while canvassing at a local shelter. Hanes allegedly groped these women, 19, 21 and 32 years old, on Friday.
Detectives then connected Hanes to a fifth reported incident - the groping of the 13-year-old girl. Police say Hanes allegedly forcibly touched the teen on Monday.
Hanes now faces five counts of forcible touching, sexual abuse and harassment charges, as well as a robbery charge.
