An NYPD officer was struck by a moped while crossing the street in Wakefield, according to police.

It happened just before 6:15 p.m. near East 228th Street and White Plains Road.

Investigators say the officer was trying to respond to a fight across the street and had the right of way. That's when the moped driver blew through a red light and struck the officer.

Citizen app footage shows the moped lying on its side in the middle of the intersection, surrounded by crime scene tape.

The officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, according to the NYPD.

Police say they took the moped driver into custody at the scene.

Official charges have not been released as of Thursday evening.
