Man on the run after assaulting 81-year-old in Mott Haven

Police say an 81-year-old man was aggressively pushed onto the concrete and suffered several injuries in Mott Haven on Tuesday.

Police say an 81-year-old man suffered several injuries after he was pushed to the ground by an unidentified man in Mott Haven on Tuesday.

Investigators tell News 12 the incident was sparked by an exchange of words that quickly turned violent on July 28 at around 7:20 p.m. The attack happened in front of 764A East 149th St.

The attacker was arguing with the victim when suddenly he pushed the elderly man to the ground. The man suffered a head contusion, several scratches on his elbow, and was left with hip pain.

Police say the man was rushed to the hospital in stable condition. Meanwhile, the aggressor ran away from the scene to parts unknown and remains on the run.
