The NYPD is asking for the public's help identifying two people wanted in connection with a string of chain snatchings and attempted robberies across New York City, including several in Brooklyn.

Police say they have linked the pair to at least 29 robberies and attempted robberies since June 15. Several of those cases happened in Brooklyn, with incidents reported in Greenpoint and Williamsburg.

One of the most recent Brooklyn robberies happened on July 7 near North 12th Street and Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg. Police say a 39-year-old man was walking when two people on a moped approached him and stole his chain before riding away. The victim was not injured.

The newly released surveillance video shows two masked people riding a moped. In one clip, the person riding on the back gets off and walks toward someone on the sidewalk before returning to the moped. Police say the two people in the video are connected to the robbery pattern.

Investigators say the Brooklyn cases were reported along Manhattan Avenue, Meeker Avenue and Java Street in Greenpoint, as well as Grand Street and the area around North 12th Street and Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg. Most of the robberies happened during the day, from around noon into the late afternoon.

Police say the victims range in age from 14 to 80 years old. Some had their chains stolen, while others were able to fight off the thieves and keep their jewelry. No injuries were reported in the Brooklyn cases.

Anyone who recognizes the two people in the surveillance video, or the moped they were riding, is asked to contact the NYPD's Crime Stoppers tip line.
