A Westchester County man says dashcam video disputes a parking garage's claim that his car was damaged before he left it there.

Sebastian Zambrano says he parked his car at a garage at 85 E. 158th St., near Yankee Stadium, and dropped it off in perfect condition.

When he returned, he says he found a flat tire and damage to the front of the vehicle.

"I'm just trying to put some awareness out there that if you choose this parking garage, you're potentially putting your property at risk of damage," Zambrano said.

Zambrano says garage workers told him the damage was already there when he arrived — something he disputes.

"He was the one that told me that I had a flat tire, came with a flat," Zambrano said. "There's no way I drove from Westchester County to the Bronx with a flat tire."

Suspicious, Zambrano reviewed his dashcam footage, which he says shows the damage occurred while the car was in the garage's care.

Zambrano heard one of the workers speaking in Spanish, admitting that they popped the tire.

"I saw the tire popped on a screw, but they were going to say that it came that way," Zambrano said as he translated the workers words in English.

Zambrano says he showed the video to the garage manager, who offered limited compensation. According to Zambrano, the manager provided $100 in cash and refunded the cost of parking, but he says it did not cover the damage.

"That doesn't cover even the tire," Zambrano said.

He says his biggest frustration is not the damage itself, but what he describes as a lack of accountability.

"If he would have approached me with a different kind of energy, it would have been a completely different ballgame," Zambrano said. "But they took a different route. They tried to do it in a schemey way."

Zambrano says he is speaking out to raise awareness and prevent similar situations from happening to others.

News 12 contacted the manager of the parking garage, who said in part, that he did help fix the tire.
