The New York City Sheriff’s Office raided and shut down an illegal cannabis growing operation on Tuesday, located at 750 Pelham Parkway.

Officials say a city marshal was executing a court order for an eviction when they came across what appeared to be an illegal grow house.

News 12 was told that the marshal then notified the sheriff's office’s task force, which indicated it was indeed an illegal grow house.

Officials noted that this was a sophisticated operation to grow cannabis, with various equipment such as hydroponic systems, fans, UV lighting and illegal wiring.

An inspection was carried out to mitigate any structural issues, fire hazards and electrical hazards.

According to officials, roughly 300 pounds of illegal cannabis plants were seized, along with 147 pounds of THC flowers.

No occupants were inside the unit at the time. No immediate arrests were made.

News 12 was told FDNY, Con Ed and the Hazmat Department were also called out to the scene.
