The City of Bridgeport is shutting down several roads ahead of Tuesday's St. Patrick's Day parade.

The parade kicks off at 12 p.m. at the Burroughs Community Center on Fairfield Avenue and stretches to The Castle in Black Rock.

Roads along the parade route are closed to traffic.

Officials say alternate routes for local access include:

  • Orland Street to Ellsworth Street to Crowther Avenue heading into Canfield Avenue and off Brewster Street (parking is prohibited along this route.)

  • Albion Street

  • Access past Brewster Street will only be allowed for residents that live on Wilson, Bennett and Fox Street.

They say parking is also prohibited at the old Showcase Cinemas location on Canfield Avenue.

Officials recommend tractor trailers utilize Commerce Drive to I-95.
