A 9/11 first responder's new book tackles social issues affecting people living in the Hudson Valley and throughout the world.

Book author Marcus H. Knight says he's on a mission to share his ideas, while generating meaningful conversations about important topics.

"I'm considered apolitical. This book is a sample of that. There are more than 30 issues facing our country today. There are also situations facing our country in other countries," he said.

Knight, a 9/11 first responder and lifelong youth mentor, is the author of his third book, "Make America Kind Again".

He describes it as a political history book and so much more.

He says, "This is the America that I see, broken, separated. The divisions, the things that divide us, the cross co-mingling and so on."

As a member of the Bronx-based, Worldwide Chaplain's Federation, Knight also heads the Acts of Kindness or AOK program.

His book, available on Amazon, highlights global issues including immigration, religious freedom, climate change, healthcare and foreign policy.

He concluded, "hopefully you can see what I'm saying every time you see a page. It should be a grabber because we've heard about it, but do you really know the facts about it?"
