A group of cows caused a traffic hazard Friday after wandering onto a roadway in Dutchess County, police said.

Deputies responded after the animals took over part of the road and disrupted traffic, officials said.

Police said one deputy helped herd the cows back to where they belonged.

No injuries were reported, and everyone involved made it home safely, police said.
