A 24-year-old former FBI employee has opened her first cookie bakeshop in White Plains.

Kendall "Chipper" Feighan opened Just Chippy's at 931 North Broadway.

Chipper was attending Virginia Tech University as a senior when she began baking cookies in her college apartment.

Simultaneously, the criminology and sociology major worked part-time with the FBI and later full time.

The Dutchess County native is now diving back into her passion.

"I just encourage people out there that, go after your dreams. Great things can happen because of it, but it's also going to take a lot of work. Dreams don't work unless you do," said Feighan.

Feighan learned to cook at a young age alongside her grandparents, Nancy and Sparky.

The ribbon-cutting was held on Jan. 13t in honor of her grandfather Sparky's birthday.

Each family member has their own cookie dedicated to them.

Her grandfather's is named "Spark's Sprinkles."

"It's such an honor and he would be delighted. He knew about Chippy's coming. In that picture, you can see him holding the box up; that was the original box. He was very happy. It was time," said Feighan's grandmother, Nancy "Nan" Vaughn in reference to her late husband, Sparky.

Just Chippy's is open Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
