A Putnam County family says they're disgusted by what happened to their son at his day care.

Carmel parents Denise Granados and Juan Rosario say an incident happened last week at their 3-year-old son's day care, Over the Rainbow Learning Center in Brewster.

Footage from the day care shows their son being yanked, pulled and they say at one point, smacked in the head by the same employee.

"I was disgusted and angry," says Granados.

Granados says she first noticed something was wrong when she picked him up that day and saw marks on his arms.

"We thought it was a bite mark because it's oval in shape," Granados tells News 12.

Rosario says they asked the facility several times for footage of what happened. When they got a look at it for themselves, they called police.

"We called the cops and we haven't heard back since," Granados explains.

The owner of the day care says two employees have since been terminated - the one seen engaging with the boy in the footage and another one who saw what happened but didn't intervene.

The owner also says she reported the incident to the necessary state departments and is heartbroken by what happened.

She added that the two employees were cleared by the state to work at this kind of facility.

"There isn't anything that the owner wouldn't do for children," says someone who has been bringing her family to the center for years.

Granados and Rosario say their 3-year-old is physically OK, but they are still worried about him.

They also want answers about what's going on with the case.

News 12 reached out to the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and is waiting to hear back.
