Coffee prices are expected to rise following President Donald Trump's recent tariff on imported goods includes a tax on coffee beans.

Coffee beans are harvested in several countries that were hit with a 46% tariff.

"The importer pays the tariff and passes it down the supply chain. Roasters will pay more for their coffee, cafes will pay more and then customers will pay more for their coffee," says Jonathan Echeverry, founder and co-owner of Paper Plane Coffee in Montclair, NJ

Echeverry's estimates that within a month coffee prices could be going up 50 to 75 cents per cup.

The USDA says the U.S. imports the second largest amount of coffee beans.
