News 12 has confirmed with officials that the New York State Office of Cannabis Management has shut down two smoke shops in Port Jervis for allegedly selling illicit cannabis.

Authorities say Port Jervis CBD and Smiles smoke shop, both on Front Street, were shut down on Wednesday.

Police say a regulatory inspection was performed by the New York State Taxation Department, and the Office of Cannabis Management, which prompted the action.
