Yonkers Police Department expanded its fleet Thursday with the unveiling of a one-of-a-kind mobile canteen.
The versatile truck plays a crucial role in major incidents, like natural disasters, but also caters to local schools, parades and much more.
"This allows us to take our barbecue on the road. We can take it to different locations, multiple neighborhoods on a daily basis, rather than having to be just tied to one spot for the day," said Yonkers PBA President Frank McDonald.
Officials said the initiative underscores their dedication to fostering stronger relationships between Yonkers police officers and the communities they serve.
