The Yonkers Police Department swore in new recruits and recognized officers who received promotions at a ceremony held at City Hall on Friday.

Two new probationary officers, Brandon Quinn and Jose Diaz, took their oaths and were welcomed to the force by Mayor Mike Spano.

Several other officers were promoted to ranks like lieutenant, sergeant, and detective.

Yonkers City Council Member Tasha Diaz praised the department's community policing efforts. She also noted her daughter will soon be joining the force.
